Aruma Resources (ASX:AAJ) plans to test several new targets within the Salmon Gums Gold Project in Western Australia, via a 2,000m aircore drilling program.
The new Sage, Poppy, and Rose Gold prospects were defined from an updated geological and structural interpretation of the Salmon Gums Project area.
Aruma says the targets are interpreted to host lithologies and structures similar to the Norseman Greenstone Belt style gold mineralisation, including the Thistle prospect where drilling results returned up to 10.5 grams per tonne gold.
The company has submitted a program of works for the drilling program, which is scheduled to begin in March or April 2025 once approvals have been received.
Managing Director Grant Ferguson says the reinterpretation of Salmon Gums’ gold potential provides impetus to initiate this first phase of drilling.
“Salmon Gums represents an exciting gold exploration asset for Aruma, and the company’s systematic exploration strategy aiming to unlock the project’s full value,” Ferguson says.
In addition to drilling, Aruma is planning to refine the new targets, as well as the Thistle and Iris prospects. The company will also undertake a 3-dimensional geological model, further field mapping, and reprocess previous geophysical data.
The Salmon Gums Project, covering 222km2, is located south of Norseman in Western Australia. The project is near Pantoro’s (ASX:PNR) Norseman Gold Operations which hosts a combined resource of 44.93 million tonnes @ 3.3g/t gold for 4.7 million pounds, including the Scotia Gold underground mine.
Aruma Resources is a junior mineral explorer focused on discovering and developing projects considered prospective for copper, uranium, gold, lithium, and rare earths.
