Aruma launches Carter Well drilling

Aruma Resources (ASX:AAJ) has begun a maiden auger drilling program at the Carter Well Gold Project in the Murchison region of Western Australia.

Speaking to Mining.com.au, Aruma Resources Managing Director Glenn Grayson there has never been a drillhole or sample taken from the project previously, so this is an ‘exciting’ step for the project.

The program — conducted by drilling contractor Auger Australia — comprises 1,300 auger holes of variable spacing, designed to target gold and nickel-copper pathfinder mineralisation.

Aruma, which has a market capitalisation of $5.70 million, is focused predominantly on areas uncovered for their greenstone and mafic intrusive characteristics, while also including a broader-spaced testing approach over areas interpreted to host granitic features.

The company plans to collect 1,298 samples from this initial drilling program, and results will be released once made available.

Speaking to this news service, Grayson says: “This is the first sampling done on a completely greenfield project. Pending the assays and what the results show us, any anomalism will likely be followed up with some more infill auger, followed by reverse circulation (RC) drilling.”

These activities are likely to be planned for early 2024.

“Our exploration at Carter Well is consistent with our commitment to explore these assets within the company’s current project portfolio in a systematic and timely manner.”

The Carter Well project covers a 294km-square area and sits 75km east of Mt Magnet and north of the Windimurra Intrusive Complex in Western Australia.

Aruma Resources is a minerals explorer focused on its portfolio of prospective gold and lithium projects that strategically sit in ‘major’ active mineralised belts in Western Australia.

As of 30 September 2023, the company had $2.79 million cash at hand and no debt, according to its latest quarterly report.
