Arizona Gold & Silver (TSX-V:AZS) demonstrates the continuity of ‘high-grade’ veining within the Philadelphia Project in northwestern Arizona, US, after receiving gold grades from drillhole PC25-136.
The company reveals the grades coincide with a zone of epithermal quartz and calcite-bearing vein breccia in rhyolitic volcanic rocks.
Some of the gold grades from drillhole PC25-136 include 9.2 grams per tonne gold and 9.2g/t silver, as well as 6.4g/t gold and 7.9g/t silver.
Vice President of Exploration Greg Hahn says it is exciting that the drillhole shows the continuity of “high-grade” veining and an attendant stockwork system to the east of previously drilled mineralisation.
“In long section it can be seen that the high-grade intercepts demonstrate a modest plunge to the north that remain wide open in both directions.
“The opportunity is open for further vein intercepts along strike and down plunge. Grades improve down dip which encourages continuing to pursue the target at depth.”
As part of the planned six hole drilling program, five holes are remaining to be drilled to test down dip of the Rising Fawn intercepts.
Rising Fawn is a segment of the main trench that lacked the drilling necessary to determine a resource estimate.
The Philadelphia Project, located in Mohave County, northwestern Arizona, comprises 30 claims. The project’s region is home to the Oatman Mining District, which has produced more than 2.5 million ounces of gold from high-grade veins and underground mining.
