Arizona Gold & Silver (TSX-V:AZS) is continuing to pursue its objective of building bulk tonnage and low-grade resources at grades above 0.5 grams per tonne gold at the Philadelphia Project in Arizona, US.
This news comes after the company received assay results from an ongoing core drilling program. The program is designed to fill in gaps in drilling data in the near-surface mineralised zone at the Rising Fawn target, located within the main gold trend at Philadelphia.
Vice President of Exploration Greg Hahn says the results show the company has accomplished its objective.
“We are continuing the core drilling program by pursuing the intercepts reported here down-dip beneath alluvial cover,” Hahn says.
The company says the latest drilling results compare favourably to previous drilling on the Rising Fawn target, with the consistency of thickness and grade appearing unusual for an epithermal gold system.
At Rising Fawn, current drilling is continuing to test down dip of the mineralised intercepts. Meanwhile, drilling at the Red Hills target is awaiting assaying, which will guide the siting of ongoing drilling in the area.
The Philadelphia Project is located in Mohave County, northwestern Arizona, which is home to the Oatman Mining District — a district that has produced more than 2 million ounces of gold from high-grade veins from underground mining.
Arizona Gold & Silver is a junior mineral explorer focused primarily on discoveries in the Western US. The company’s assets include the Philadelphia, Silverton, and Sycamore Canyon projects.
