Antipa Minerals (ASX:AZY) has finalised its exploration plans, set to begin during Q3 2023, at the Citadel Joint Venture (JV) Project with Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) in Western Australia.
The company says the exploration activities will include reverse circulation (RC) drilling for about 1,000m to 1,4000m to evaluate the Rimfire Southwest target and the 2 Junction targets.
Antipa notes it will be operating the $2.1 million exploration program, which is fully funded by JV partner Rio Tinto.
Additionally, the final processing and interpretation of CY2022 geophysical and drilling data will be conducted to further uncover the priority target areas.
Antipa reports 2,300m of RC drilling was conducted during the CY2022 exploration program, primarily focused on the Rimfire target area. ‘Significant’ results include hole RFRN0013 with 4m @ 1.83g/t Au and 0.15% Cu from 214m, including 2m @ 3.32g/t Au and 0.19% Cu from 214m.
The company has completed metallurgical testwork on samples from the Calibre deposit, with results anticipated in Q2 2023.
Commenting on the upcoming exploration activities, Antipa Minerals Managing Director Roger Mason says: “We are very pleased to report a successful CY2022 field season at our Paterson and Citadel major growth projects.
“The Antipa team looks forward to interrogating multiple high-potential opportunities during our operation of this year’s drilling program”
At Citadel, assay results increased the Rimfire North gold-copper mineralisation footprint, where we believe there is significant discovery potential. The Antipa team looks forward to interrogating multiple high-potential opportunities during our operation of this year’s drilling program.”
Alongside exploration updates regarding the company’s Citadel Project, Antipa reports it received an Exploration Incentive Scheme grant totalling $210,000 in April, which will be applied to the Paterson IGO Farm-In Project in the Paterson province of Western Australia.
The company says the grant will be used for diamond drill testing for 2 Havieron look-alike magnetic and partially co-incident gravity targets, 10km to 15km along strike from Rio Tinto’s Winu copper-gold-silver development project.
Drilling at Paterson is in the final stages of planning, scheduled to start in Q3 2023.
Antipa Minerals is an Australian mineral exploration and development company with ‘large-scale’ ‘world-class’ assets, including its Minyari Dome Project, Wilki and Paterson farm-in projects, and the Citadel JV Project.
