Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) has pegged a tenement covering 127.75km2 adjacent to its Ajana Project in Western Australia, increasing the size of the landholding by 175%.
The tenement was pegged after recent drilling uncovered critical minerals, including gallium, indium, germanium, and barium on the tenement, associated with base metal mineralisation.
Anson, which has a market capitalisation of $148.41 million, says the discovery of the critical minerals will add economic value to the future zinc-lead-silver resource.
The company says data from the WACHEM database — courtesy of the WA’s Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) historical regolith geochemical mapping — suggests that gallium and barium assays have been recorded in additional areas recently pegged by the company.
This suggests that the area prospective for critical minerals may be extensive or contained in multiple pods, similar to Ajana’s Mary Springs prospect.
Several of these prospects have soil or drilling assays not just for lead, zinc, silver, and copper, but also barium, gallium, and germanium.
Anson says interpreted anomalies from historical soil sampling and geological mapping are being used as a basis for follow-up drilling programs that will be conducted for additional analysis of the critical minerals that are present at Ajana.
Further sampling is now being conducted, based on the Mary Springs drilling data which showed gallium mineralisation is continuous within and outside the mineralised zones.
Anson Resources is a mineral resources explorer focused on its portfolio of projects, primarily its flagship Paradox Lithium Project in Utah, USA.
