American Uranium (ASX:AMU) has completed large-scale aquifer testing at its Lo Herma In-Situ Recovery (ISR) Uranium Project in Wyoming, US, ahead of a targeted Q4 Scoping Study.
The hydrogeological testing program at proposed Mine Unit One has been completed, with results now under independent evaluation by Petrotek. The company expects a final report in the coming weeks.
The program was designed in consultation with Petrotek to evaluate hydrogeological characteristics relevant to potential ISR development at Mine Unit One.
The testing follows American Uranium’s 4 August 2026 mineral resource estimate update, which reported total Lo Herma resources of 9.96 million pounds (Mlb) triuranium octoxide (U3O8), including 4.79Mlb indicated.
Within the proposed Scoping Study footprint across Mine Units One, Two, and Three, resources increased to 7.38Mlb U3O8, with 54% classified as indicated.
CEO Bruce Lane says completion of the aquifer testing program marks another ‘important’ step in the advancement of Lo Herma.
“We look forward to receiving Petrotek’s final report and incorporating its findings into the targeted Q4 2026 Scoping Study and ongoing permitting activities,” Lane says.
The final results are expected to inform wellfield design parameters for the Scoping Study and help define the next stages of hydrogeological work for aquifer permitting.
Lo Herma is American Uranium’s flagship ISR project located in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin. Mine Unit One was the focus of the completed testing program and is expected to represent the initial stage of development evaluated in the planned Scoping Study.
The company also holds resources at its Great Divide Basin Project, with total Wyoming mineral resources of 11.62Mlb U3O8 across both projects.
