Alluminous makes an Impact with HPA shipment

Impact Minerals’ (ASX:IPT) 50% owned company Alluminous has shipped 15kg of HiPurA high purity alumina (HPA) samples to conduct initial testwork at C4V in the US under the established partnership.

The samples are undergoing formal testing at C4V’s laboratory and pilot-scale facilities to advance product qualification for downstream lithium-ion battery markets.

Impact Managing Director Mike Jones says this is a “very exciting development” as the company has not seen this much HPA produced in less than three years in the HPA business.

“This tangible milestone demonstrates execution capability and moves us closer to product qualification in technically demanding battery markets,” Jones says.

“Operating the Perth pilot plant in batch mode and planning the shift to continuous operation are key priorities for the upcoming months.

“Early signs suggest the facility could achieve higher throughput; if confirmed, this would greatly improve the scalability and capital efficiency of Alluminous’ development process.

“C4V’s technical expertise and infrastructure support will provide valuable independent validation of the material.”

Alluminous Managing Director David Leavy says this is a “crucial step in turning pilot-scale production into qualification data”.

“Meeting with the C4V technical team in New York helped align expectations and sequencing of the testwork programme, and we look forward to integrating performance feedback as it comes in,” Leavy says.

“With Peter Barnes joining as COO, we have enhanced our operational leadership and capacity to optimise and scale our processes.

“Our ongoing market engagement in the US has been invaluable in shaping how we prioritise product development and qualification pathways for high-purity alumina across multiple advanced end-markets.”

Alluminous is focused on optimisation of the pilot plant ahead of transitioning to continuous operation. C4V will provide performance data to guide development.
