All Ords and S&P/ASX200 close higher

The S&P/ASX200 closed higher on Tuesday (7 May 2024), gaining 1.44% or 110.90 points to reach 7,793.30, crossing above its 50-day moving average.

Over the past five days, the S&P/ASX200 has gained 1.69% and is currently 1.48% off what has been its 52-week high.

Perth-based uranium company Paladin Energy (ASX:PDN), which has a 75% interest in the globally significant Langer Heinrich Mine in Namibia, was the top performing stock in the index, closing 8.439% higher to $16.96.

AGL Energy (ASX:AGL) was just behind closing 7.4% up to $10.01.

The All Ords also closed higher, gaining 113.20 points or 1.42% to 8,065.50 and also crossing above its 50-day moving average.

A top performing mining stock in this index is Sayona Mining (ASX:SYA), which closed 12.12% higher.

Over the past five days, the index gained 1.68% and is currently 1.25% off of its 52-week high.
