Aldoro Resources (ASX:ARN) has reported an updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its Kameelburg Rare Earth Element-Strontium-Niobium Project in Namibia, containing approximately 1.37 million tonnes (Mt) of neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) oxide.
The total resource stands at 804.5Mt at 2.90% total rare earth oxide equivalent (TREO) — including 1.17% TREO, 0.19% niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5), 191 parts per million molybdenum, and 0.17% NdPr — and 3.54% strontium carbonate at a 0.5% TREO cut-off.
The updated MRE represents a 35% tonnage increase on the May 2026 estimate and includes the project’s first indicated mineral resource of 162.1Mt containing approximately 290,000 tonnes of NdPr oxide.
Chairwoman Quinn Li says the resource update represents a ‘defining milestone’ for the company.
“The updated MRE confirms Kameelburg as one of the world’s largest undeveloped rare earth projects,” Li notes.
“The delivery of our maiden indicated mineral resource marks the beginning of the next stage of value creation as we systematically advance the project towards development.”
A ‘high-grade’ subset of 414.8Mt AT 3.32% TREO equivalent at a 1% TREO cut-off supports potential open-pit mining of ‘higher-grade’ material.
Kameelburg also hosts what the company describes as the world’s largest strontium resource of 802.1mT at 2.11% strontium, underpinned by approximately 99% strontium extraction in initial leach testwork.
Metallurgy has been demonstrated across all three commodities, with approximately 72% direct hydrochloric acid leach rare earth recovery without conventional beneficiation, approximately 99% strontium extraction, and 62.4% niobium pentoxide recovery.
The company reports the deposit remains open along strike, down-dip, and at depth.
Aldoro says it is transitioning from resource definition toward development optimisation. This includes upgraded hydrometallurgical testwork underway at CM Solutions in Johannesburg, a Scoping Study leading into a Prefeasibility Study, and phase three drilling targeting conversion of inferred resources to indicated.
