Alara Resources (ASX:AUQ) has announced that its Al Wash-hi Majaza Mine and Copper concentrator plant in Oman has achieved sustained production above nameplate capacity.
Alara reports that for the past three months, the mine and concentrator plant have achieved a six month average in excess of their respective nameplate capacities, demonstrating the project’s operational ramp-up and overcoming of its previous tailings issues.
For the current financial year, mine production on a financial year to date wet metric tonne (WMT) basis is 6.4% above nameplate, while plant concentrate projection (WMT) is 6.1% above nameplate.
Alara has a projected output in excess of 40,000 WMT of copper concentrate for FY26.
Managing Director Atmavireshwar Sthapak says that surpassing nameplate capacity is “a testament to the dedication, expertise, and collaboration” of the Alara team.
“This milestone not only demonstrates the strength of our operations but also reinforces our confidence in the long-term potential of our flagship Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper project,” Sthapak says.
At the end of February 2026, the Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper Concentrate plant delivered parcel 38, holding 1,389 WMT of copper-gold concentrate, to the Sohar Port. An initial estimated dispatch date of 18 March has been provided as guidance, however due to ongoing regional disruptions, the departure date is postponed pending further notice.
Alara Resources is an Australian precious and base metals producer and explorer with a focus on the Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper-Gold mine and concentrate production facility in Oman.
