Alara sends off another copper concentrate shipment

Alara Resources (ASX:AUQ) has dispatched the 14th shipment of copper-gold concentrate from its Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper-Gold Mine in Oman in the Middle East.

The 14th shipment comprised just under 1,160 wet metric tonnes of copper concentrate, containing 193 million tonnes of copper and 3.3kg of gold.

As previously reported, earlier this month, Alara dispatched the 13th shipment which contained almost 1,462 wet metric tonnes of copper-gold concentrate, comprising 255 million tonnes of copper and 5.5kg of gold.

The Al Wash-hi Majaza Project is being operated by Al Hadeetha Resources, which is a joint venture between Alara’s wholly owned subsidiary Alara Oman Operations, as well as Al Hadeetha Investments and Al Tasnim Infrastructure.

Al Wash-hi Majazza comprises a single open-pit mine and a 1 million tonnes per year processing facility to produce copper concentrate for export.

As of Friday 28 March, gold’s price sits at US$3,062 per ounce, following the escalating global trade tensions and a sharp equity market sellout after US President Trump announced new auto tariffs, according to Trading Economics.

Meanwhile, copper futures soared past $5.20 per pound in late March, reaching an all-time high amid reports that President Trump would impose copper import tariffs. As of 28 March, copper’s price dipped back to just shy of $5.10 per pound, as reported by Trading Economics.
