Myrtleford Project Advance Metals

Advance Metals to tackle Myrtleford diamond drilling

Advance Metals (ASX:AVM) is planning to conduct a diamond drilling program at the Myrtleford Gold Project in the Victorian Goldfields, Australia.

The company has submitted a low-impact exploration notification to Resources Victoria, with consent expected from the relevant stakeholders shortly. This will allow non-ground disturbing exploration at Myrtleford including confirmatory/extensional drilling from existing prospect sites.

Advance Metals’ technical team are finalising program designs for maiden drilling to begin, which will start on the Happy Valley Trend where previous intersections returned 11.5m @ 160.4 grams per tonne gold and 5.9m @ 66.2g/t gold.

The company is also finalising other logistical considerations to expedite the program, including engagement with drilling and field contractors.

This news comes after the company has been onsite to review the geology of the previous drill core and confirm logistics for drilling.

A review of work conducted by Serra Energy Metals (CSE:SEEM) identified a suite of previously unreported rock chip samples collected during regional reconnaissance mapping at the project.

Some of the results include 8.6g/t gold from the 13km-long Happy Valley Trend, 18.1g/t gold from the 16km-long Magpie Trend, and 29.1g/t gold from the Barwidgee Creek Trend.

Managing Director Adam McKinnon says previous drilling on Myrtleford has shown the region has potential to produce high-grade gold intersections.

“As the rock chip sample data shows, the project hosts several multi-kilometre gold trends littered with high-grade historic hard-rock mines,” McKinnon says.

“Coupled with the fact that most of these areas have had little or no modern exploration, the upcoming exploration program presents an unparalleled opportunity to make major, high-grade and high-value discoveries.”

Advance Metals notes further mapping and rock chip sampling is set to begin at the project shortly, focusing on the Happy Valley and Twist Creek trends.

The Myrtleford Project, covering 475km2, is located in the northeastern Victorian Goldfields. The project hosts a number of structural trends including the Happy Valley Trend in the southeastern portion of the project.

Advance Metals is a diversified mineral explorer with assets in Australia, Mexico, and the US. The company is primarily focused on developing its Augustus and Garnet Skarn projects in the US.
