3D Resources sees potential for ‘major’ gold deposit at Adelong

3D Resources (ASX: DDD) reports that it has intersected ‘impressive’ gold mineralisation following drilling campaigns at the Gibraltar Mine and Caledonian Deposit within its Adelong Goldfield Project in New South Wales.

The company notes that the results at Gibraltar highlight the potential for a ‘major’ deposit and the generation of additional open cut resources, while results from the Caledonian deposit have confirmed the presence of ‘wide’ mineralised intersections.

Highlight results from Gibraltar include:

  • Hole 3DGIB003:
    • 1m @ 3.36g/t Au from 2m
    • 5m @ 3.8g/t Au from 13m
    • 3m @ 1.96g/t Au from 25m
    • 1m @ 4.18g/t Au from 38m
    • 1m @ 5.36g/t Au from 47m
    • 1m @ 9.02g/t Au from 82m
  • Hole 3DGIB004:
    • 1m @ 9.02g/t Au from 82m

Further intersections at the Caledonian Deposit, encountered within a broader mineralised zone, include:

  • Hole CAL009:
    • 6m @ 6.68g/t Au from 52m, incl.
      • 1m @ 16.65g/t Au from 53m

Addressing the results, 3D Resources Managing Director Peter Mitchell said: “The results received to date are extremely promising and could offer the potential for a major resource. The initial assays from reconnaissance drill holes at Gibraltar are excellent. Hole 3DGIB003 has shown the presence of multiple veins (5) and wide mineralised zones at shallow depths to the west of the Perkin’s Shaft. Equally hole 3DGIB004 has intersected a 1m vein deposit averaging 9.02g/t Au which makes it also a target for further exploration work.

“The results received to date are extremely promising and could offer the potential for a major resource”

We are also very pleased with the initial results from CAL009 which confirm the presence of wide intersections at Caledonian. We look forward to receiving the remaining assay results very soon.”

3D Resources also notes that hole 3DGIB003 has confirmed that mineralisation is open to the west of the Gibraltar Mine, and that the full length of the recently-discovered mineralised vein has yet to be determined.

In addition, the results from the Caledonian Deposit have confirmed the presence of a broader ‘extremely promising’ mineralisation zone, with all results set to be included in the JORC Resource model.

The 70km² Adelong Gold Project is located in southern New South Wales, between the towns of Tumut and Gundagai. It boasts an existing JORC 2012 Mineral Resource Rstimate of 171,700oz of contained gold, and includes 17 freehold properties, with mining and processing plant equipment on site.

The company reports that further assay results will be released once they have been returned and finalised.
