Wia Gold delivers most ‘significant’ intercept to date at Kokoseb Gold Discovery

Wia Gold (ASX:WIA) reports its reverse circulation (RC) drill program has delivered the most ‘significant’ intercepts to date, recording up to 3.37g/t Au at the Kokoseb Gold Discovery, located within the Damaran Gold Project in Namibia.

The results returned are from a further 15 RC drillholes completed at the site, which are infill and depth extensional holes located at the central and northwest zones. Additionally, both zones host ‘significant high-grade’ gold intercepts.

Wia Gold reports the most ‘significant’ intercepts returned include hole KRC067 with 31m @ 3.37g/t Au from 77m; KRC074 with 34m @ 1.81g/t Au; and KRC072 with 15m @ 1.80g/t Au from 97m.

Commenting on the ‘significant’ drill results, Wia Gold Chairman, Andrew Pardey says: “Two of these latest significant intercepts at Kokoseb are extremely important. The geological understanding of the host context at Kokoseb is increasing rapidly, hence the level of detail now demonstrated on the interpreted geological sections and plans.

“Two of these latest significant intercepts at Kokoseb are extremely important”

The company says this knowledge is valuable for input into the coming Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), that is still expected during the second quarter of 2023, and for the success of the next series of exploration drilling, along strike, and on extension zones.”

Wia Gold’s Damaran Gold Project is held under a joint venture (JV) with the state-owned mining company, Epangelo, and a local Namibian group. Wia Gold holds 80% interest in the project.

In addition, the Damaran Gold Project is situated along key regional structures hosting the Kokoseb gold discovery, which consists of 12 tenements with a total area of over 2,700km-square.

Wia Gold is a gold-focused exploration company with an advanced portfolio of exploration projects in Cote d’Ivoire and a highly prospective land package in Namibia.
