White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN) has extended the Danvers 3 copper discovery at its Rae Copper Project in Nunavut, Canada, after a 250m step-out returned a broad mineralised intersection.
Diamond hole DAN26025 returned 42m @ 1.43% copper (Cu) from 200m, including 5.25m @ 2.72% Cu from 207.15m, 4m @ 2.42% Cu from 226m, and 4.73m @ 2.23% Cu from 232.5m.
The hole was collared 250m northwest of DAN26012, which previously returned 19.81m @ 6.64% Cu.
Managing Director Troy Whittaker says the latest result indicates the mineralised breccia system extends beyond the initial discovery area.
“Across the broader Danvers trend, our first-pass regional program has now logged copper sulphides across a combined 9.8km of strike,” Whittaker says.
A second hole, DAN26028, returned 8m @ 0.9% Cu from 309m, including 5m @ 1.18% Cu from 312m. It was collared 10m southwest of DAN26012 and drilled in the opposite direction to DAN26025.
Meanwhile, DAN26036, collared 105m west of DAN26012, intersected a combined 83.1m of visually logged copper sulphides across several intervals. White Cliff says the chalcocite-dominant intersections support an interpreted strike expansion of more than 280m at Danvers 3.
Assays from DAN26036 are pending, and the company cautions that visual estimates are not a substitute for laboratory analysis.
Phase one drilling has tested 7,078m of strike along the Teshierpi Fault Zone and 2,680m along the Danvers 1 structure. Assays have confirmed copper mineralisation across a combined 6.6km, while copper sulphides have been visually logged across 9.8km.
Two diamond rigs remain active at Rae, with assays pending for more than 20 holes. White Cliff plans further step-out drilling at Danvers 3, alongside strike and depth testing at Danvers 1 and follow-up work at Danvers 2 and Danvers 4.
All reported intersections are downhole lengths, with true widths yet to be determined.
