Western Star Resources (CSE:WSR) has received results from a phase one soil geochemistry program at the Rowland Project in Nevada, confirming a coherent, mutli-element tungsten-skarn signature in soil over a 1km structural corridor.
CEO Blake Morgan says the anomalous soil results provide a baseline to interpret the expanded soil results once they arrive.
“Crucially, the soils line up with the contacts our unmanned aerial vehicle magnetics are mapping, which is the strongest possible vector for where to look next,” Morgan says.
“Expanding the soil program immediately to extend the known zones around Rowland Main and the historical workings, and then into untested ground where an entirely new discovery could be made is an important step in converting these anomalies into ranked drill targets.”
Results from the soil sampling program include 0.14% tungsten, as well as up to 517 parts per million (ppm) tungsten and 504ppm tungsten over the main historical workings.
Tungsten is also accompanied by coincident diagnostic tungsten-copper-molybdenum-bismuth skarn metals, returning up to 1,185ppm copper, 35ppm molybdenum, 5.2ppm bismuth, and 4.56ppm beryllium.
Western Star is mobilising an expanded soil sampling program to begin imminently. The program is designed to trace the prospective skarn contacts outward from the known workings and the potential mineralisation controlling faults.
Results from the expanded program will be integrated with the unmanned aerial vehicle magnetic survey and field mapping to generate and prioritise drill targets for a maiden drill program.
Western Star Resources is an emerging junior mineral explorer focused on revitalising North America’s tungsten supply.
