Western Ridge Resources (ASX:WRX) reports confirmed sulphide mineralisation at its Keystone Project in Nevada, following a field review and rock chip sampling.
The field review included detailed light detection and ranging (LiDAR) mapping of historic underground workings, while 10 rock chip samples from multiple areas were submitted to ALS Laboratories in Reno for assay analysis.
Preliminary field observations identified sulphide mineralisation within several vein systems, providing evidence of the mineralised hydrothermal system present across the project.
Managing Director Dr Matthew Cobb notes that a particularly ‘significant’ outcome from the program was the sampling done at Marble Rock.
“The sampling completed at Marble Rock was highly encouraging, where historical underground workings coincide with the large aeromagnetic anomalies identified early this year,” Cobb says.
“The presence of common silver-bearing sulphides within this area provides an important validation of our exploration model and supports the broader prospectivity of the district.”
Cobb adds that the program has provided “further encouragement” that Keystone hosts a significant mineralised system extending beyond the historical mine workings.
“The combination of detailed LiDAR mapping and targeted rock chip sampling has helped refine our understanding of the project and identify priority areas for follow-up exploration,” Cobb says.
The work forms part of Western Ridge’s ongoing efforts to refine drill targets ahead of the maiden drilling campaign scheduled to commence later this year.
The Keystone Project is located within the emerging Pershing Trend in Nevada, hosting numerous historical workings associated with tungsten, silver, and gold mineralisation.
