Western Mines Group (ASX:WMG) has received assays from the final four drillholes of a reverse circulation program at its Mulga Tank project in Western Australia, with all showing broad sulphide mineralisation.
The 17-hole, 5,534m phase-two program was focused on infilling a higher-grade core area uncovered by exploration target modelling.
The latest results include 220m @ 0.28% nickel, 124 parts per million (ppm) cobalt, 63ppm copper, 25 parts per billion (ppb) platinum+palladium from 82m.
Managing Director Dr Caedmon Marriott says assays from all holes have been received, with three of the four holes returning continuous intersections of mineralisation.
“As we narrow down the RC drill spacing, we’re increasing our understanding of the complex,” he says.
“These results will feed into our ongoing modelling work and will be used to aid an initial inferred resource evaluation of this central zone — hoping to target a few hundred million tonnes at better than 0.3% nickel (further drilling may be required, and certainly will be for higher confidence levels).”
The Mulga Tank Project is an ultramafic complex found on the under-explored Minigwal Greenstone Belt.
