Ramelius Resources (ASX:RMS) is commencing early works at its Roe project in late 2026 following approval from the Western Australian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).
EPA has advised the company that the project can now proceed through the established Part V works approval and licencing process under the Environmental Protection Act without requiring formal assessment.
Ramelius says the EPA approval provides a streamlined pathway to progress the combined Rebecca-Roe Project, located approximately 150km east of Kalgoorlie in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.
The decision also confirms that environmental impacts of the Roe development can be managed through the Part V regulatory framework, aligning it with the already-completed approval for the Rebecca project.
Managing Director Mark Zeptner says it is also a “vital milestone” for the Roe project.
“The EPA’s decision reflects the thorough nature of our environmental planning and commitment to responsible development,” Zeptner says.
“Parallel processing of the Part V submission is already underway, supporting the timely securing of all necessary permits to advance the project toward production.”
The company intends to commence early works in late 2026, noting that the decision helps accelerate development timelines and optimise overall outcomes.
Ramelius Resources is a gold producer and explorer with two primary processing hubs in Australia.
