Alligator Energy (ASX:AGE) has completed the first well pattern at its Samphire Uranium Project Field Recovery Trial, 20km southwest of Whyalla on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.
The pattern has progressed through the planned recovery cycle, delivering results that are consistent with assumptions outlined in both the Scoping Study and internal models.
The trial shows strong technical viability of recovering a benchmark of 70% uranium within over 70 pore volumes from the project’s palaeochannel system using in situ recovery methods.
Ion exchange and elution recovery plant processes demonstrate downstream processing viability with “clear optimisation upside”.
“Achieving our target of 70% recovery in the time we had allocated to run the test is testament to the credible science behind our assumptions and the team’s operating experience,” CEO and Managing Director Andrea Marsland-Smith says.
“With our next well test commencing soon, it is important to build increasing confidence in our models that inform planning the next phase of development at Samphire and for the company.”
Following the successful completion of this first well pattern, the company will begin second well pattern work in the coming week. Activities are intentionally designed to test a lower grade/less permeable area at the mineralised system’s margins.
The company expects to report results from the second well pattern during the third quarter of calendar 2026.
