Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) has received certified assay results from the Wedge Project in Canada, which continues to demonstrate its “economic and high-grade potential”.
Hole DDHWD-25-01 intersected 22.65m of fine-grained pyrite volcanic massive sulphide (VMS), confirming the presence of copper at depth, as well as gold and silver mineralisation. Some of the grades returned include 0.96 grams per tonne gold and 39.52g/t silver, including 1.01g/t gold and 42.50g/t silver and 1.21g/t gold and 50.33g/t silver.
In the drillhole, the precious metal enrichment returned peak assays of 1.72g/t gold and 148g/t silver, respectively.
Nine Mile says the results from hole DDHWD-25-01 are considered ‘unique’, with the zonation of precious metals and epithermal elements separate from the more extensive copper mineralisation at the lower contact. The hole shows the variation in mineralisation that is common in VMS systems, even at deposit scale, further confirming Wedge’s dynamic nature.
Vice President of Exploration Gary Lohman says this hole contains a “significant” precious metal component previously not recognised or reported at Wedge.
“In our 2024 drilling on the eastern extensions, both gold and silver are present in the assays however the widths were much smaller and associated with copper, lead and zinc-rich intervals,” Lohman says.
“This further demonstrates the robust nature of the mineralisation at the Wedge.”
Nine Mile is looking forward to its 2026 drilling program to unlock more potential at depth and along the western corridor.
As previously reported, the company recently proceeded with the third anniversary option payment to acquire the Wedge Project.
The company has approved and paid the required C$40,000 cash, as well as authorised and issued 300,000 shares, as part of the deal. The option agreement has one remaining payment anniversary in February 2027, requiring C$50,000 cash and 400,000 shares.
