Wedge reflects ‘copper-rich’ nature: Nine Mile

Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) Vice President of Exploration Gary Lohman says surface samples collected along the western portion of the Wedge Copper Project in Canada, reflects the “copper-rich nature” of the asset.

The company has received certified assay results, returning up to 15.21% copper-equivalent, for volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralisation, with samples collected from a pre-drill area on the Wedge Project.

Some of the other results included up to 32 grams per tonne silver, 0.516g/t gold, 3.98% zinc, and 1.7% lead.

Assays were shipped to ALS Global in Moncton, New Brunswick, for preparation with final analysis of pulps conducted in Vancouver.

Two samples – collected from a small area immediately west of the footings from an old hoist and remains of a shaft – exhibit massive high-grade copper sulphide mineralisation.

Lohman says these samples were massive in character, fine grained, with basic iron and copper sulphide mineralogy.

“Early observations of drill core are encouraging, and we look forward to the reporting of the drill results as soon as available from ALS Global,” he says.

CEO Patrick Cruickshank says the grade of these samples are highly indicative of the quality of the asset and the potential of the economics of this mine.

“Our technology indicates that this asset is much bigger and potentially part of a regional clustering of the massive sulphide targets,” Cruickshank says.

Nine Mile is logging, measuring, photographing, sampling, cutting, and sending to the labs for assay processing.

The Wedge Project, covering 35.83km2, is located in the Bathurst Mining Camp of New Brunswick, Canada.
