Viking Mines (ASX:VKA) has created a schedule for upcoming exploration activities at the Linka Project in Nevada, US, to accelerate field and technical operations towards production.
The company is targeting cleaner gravity and flotation results from metallurgy testing at the project after achieving a result of 63.6% tungsten trioxide, marking a 53-fold upgrade for tungsten concentrate, as reported by Mining.com.au earlier this week.
Gravity and flotation results are expected shortly, while Viking finalises models to navigate ‘high-priority’ targets at Linka.
Viking is focusing on targets under the volcanic cover that sits southwest of the Linka Main prospect, with drilling to begin in the June quarter of 2026.
The company is currently submitting permits to the US Bureau of Land Management for drilling and looking to engage contractors to complete the campaign.
Meanwhile, Viking is also assessing easy-access mineralisation from stockpile and tailings for potential early development and initiating mapping and trench sampling for ground-truth targets and geological data.
The 2026 drilling campaign will provide resource growth targets for the Linka Project, while Viking also intends to release a maiden exploration target.
CEO Julian Woodcock says the company is focused on transitioning its Nevada-based tungsten assets into active project development.
“Our strategy encompasses high-intensity workstreams that enable a rapid, low-CAPEX pathway to production,” Woodcock says.
“With tungsten at 90-year highs, the value of our Nevada assets is clear.
“With this comprehensive work program underway, we are advancing all aspects of the critical minerals resources value chain simultaneously and we look forward to providing updates as milestones are achieved.”
TOMRA and Mineral Technologies will conduct studies to identify a modular, low-CAPEX pathway for production.
Viking intends to progress its listing on the US OTC Market, as well as its Defense Industrial Base Consortium (DIBC) membership to align under the national critical mineral supply initiatives.
The DIBC is used by US government agencies to access industry sources for critical minerals.
Viking Mines is a diversified explorer and developer, focused on tungsten, gold, and vanadium projects.
