Viking brings on DrilCor for maiden Linka drilling

Viking Mines (ASX:VKA) has executed a drilling services contract with DrilCor for a 63-hole maiden reverse circulation drilling campaign at the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada, US.

The company was recently approved by the US Bureau of Land Management for the maiden drilling campaign, leaving the securing of DrilCor as the drilling contractor the final ‘operational milestone’ ahead of mobilisation.

Viking is currently preparing the rig for mobilisation, with on-site arrival expected in late June 2026.

The company is in the final stages of engaging an earthworks contractor, who is expected to mobilise to the site ahead of the drill rig for earthworks and drill pad preparation.

This campaign comprises 63 holes and 48 pads, delivering the first known sub-surface exploration at Linka in more than 40 years. Viking will focus on three priority target areas: Linka Main (36 holes), Linka SW extension (16 holes), and regional reconnaissance (11 holes).

Maiden drilling is expected to take six weeks to complete, subject to change due to ground conditions, productivity, and weather.

Viking Mines is advancing a portfolio of tungsten projects in Nevada, with a view to becoming a source of supply for the US market.

The company will be attending the RIU Gold Coast Investment Showcase, held between 11 and 12 June, at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa.
