Viking brings in Mineral Technologies for Linka growth

Viking Mines (ASX:VKA) has engaged Mineral Technologies to undertake a processing concept study at the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada.

The study will include critical process design and metallurgical optimisation for the project to accelerate the development pathway.

Viking intends to improve tungsten trioxide recovery rates at the project through this concept study, while spending minimal capital and lessening the typical operational intensity associated with traditional fixed plant construction.

CEO Julian Woodcock says engaging Mineral Technologies early on is a key part of the company’s strategy to “rapidly” advance the Linka Project.

“With testwork demonstrating mineralisation is amenable to simple gravity separation, Mineral Technologies are a logical partner as we progress engineering studies,” Woodcock says.

“I look forward to working with Mineral Technologies to define a low-capital cost processing solution for Linka.”

The company will continue to focus on metallurgical testing, flowsheet design, procurement planning, and cost estimate for Linka.

As reported by Mining.com.au, Viking entered a binding term sheet for the portfolio in December 2025, comprising the Linka, Alpine, Long, Terrell, Ragged, and Victory projects.

Viking Mines is an exploration and development company, currently focused on developing its tungsten acquisitions in Nevada, US.
