Vertex Minerals (ASX:VTX) has connected the remote control unit in the Reward Gold Mine’s telehut to the Aramine underground loader.
Ore was loaded from the 1438 north stope via the remote control after being connected last week.
Chairman Roger Jackson describes the connection as a “great milestone” for the company that will use long hole stoping methods.
“With only a few underground mines in Australia that operate tele remote equipment at this scale, the equipment needs to be purposely commissioned,” Jackson says.
“The items have significant lead times and extensive commissioning procedures.
“Our tele remote hut is designed specifically for the Reward Mine and can be moved around on a skid steer.”
Vertex is also focusing on other mining fronts, including declines 1, 2, and 3. Decline 3 flatback mining is nearing rehab development.
The Reward Mine is located within the Hill End Project in the central west of New South Wales. The project covers 155km2 in the Eastern Lachlan Fold Belt.
