Vertex brings Executive Chairman on board

Vertex Minerals (ASX:VTX) has appointed Bruce McInnes as Executive Chairman and Director as part of the company’s project development plans to move towards commercial gold production in October 2026.

McInnes will provide the financial discipline required to support Vertex becoming a steady-state gold producer.

With McInnes joining the board, the company will continue to pursue its broader growth strategy across the historic Hill End goldfield.

Meanwhile, Executive Chairman Roger Jackson is transitioning to the role of Executive Director.

Jackson says McInnes is joining Vertex at a “pivotal time” in its growth journey.

“Having guided the company through exploration, development and the ramp-up of operations at Reward, I believe Vertex is now entering a new chapter as a gold producer,” Jackson says.

“He brings the financial discipline, corporate transaction experience, and regional knowledge that will serve Vertex well as we transition from development to commercial gold production.

“Bruce is highly experienced [in] managing corporate transactions, and his background will add valuable expertise to the Vertex Board as we continue to evaluate opportunities to grow the company.”

McInnes is an accountant by profession and holds a commerce degree with a major in marketing from the University of New South Wales.

“In mid-2013 I was offered a position as a non-executive director on the board of Ord River Resources, later known as Vango Mining,” McInnes adds.

“I was moved rapidly to the position of Deputy Chairman of that company (Vango) and in August 2014 became the Chairman.”

In late 2022, McInnes helped organise Vango Mining’s merger with Catalyst Metals (ASX:CYL), which was completed in February 2023.

Vertex Minerals is an Australian gold producer, developer, and exploration company.
