Venus Metals begins drilling new lithium target at Youanmi

Western Australia-based exploration company Venus Metals (ASX:VMC) has begun a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program aiming to test recently identified lithium soil and rock chip anomalies at the Youanmi Lithium Project in Western Australia.

The company says this drilling will focus on the recently identified pegmatite-hosted lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) mineralisation in the bedrock at the Manindi North Li prospect.

Venus reports 3 east-northeast trending lithium anomalies in the northern part of tenement E57/983 were delineated by a geochemical soil survey at a historical beryl occurrence reported in MINEDEX. Rock chip samples from sub-cropping pegmatites nearby have returned up to 2.11% Li2O.

The Manindi North Li prospect is located within the granite-greenstone contact zone at the Youanmi greenstone belt that is considered prospective for LCT pegmatite mineralisation.

The company says drilling will also test the interpreted down-dip extension of lithium-bearing pegmatite at the Central Prospect.

Venus Metals is a Western Australia-based exploration company focused on gold, base metals, lithium, rare earth element (REE), and vanadium exploration projects in Western Australia.

These projects include the Youanmi Gold, Bridgetown Greenbushes East Lithium Nickel-PGE, Marvel Loch East REE, Youanmi Base Metals, Youanmi Vanadium, and the Youanmi Lithium projects.
