Vault Strategic Mining (TSX-V:KNOX) has reported tungsten values up to 1,100 parts per million (ppm) from its phase one exploration program at the War Bond Tungsten Project in Nevada, US.
The company collected 42 rock and soil samples across the project, which encompasses the historical War Bond, Tactite, and Thursday tungsten mine areas in western Nevada.
Results returned widespread anomalous tungsten values and manganese values up to 4,430ppm.
Rock assays reached up to 1,100ppm tungsten, approximately three orders of magnitude above average crustal background of one to two ppm.
The caved adit returned the ‘highest’ average tungsten value at 780ppm across three rock samples, with individual results ranging from 460–1,050ppm.
At the War Bond pit, garnet-rich tactite samples returned 155–1,100ppm tungsten while nearby garnet-poor altered rocks returned 3.6–16ppm, supporting a relationship between skarn development and tungsten enrichment.
Soil samples collected along the interpreted structural trend returned up to 187ppm tungsten and distinguished the Tactite and War Bond areas from background-level soils elsewhere on the property.
“The strongest tungsten values closely correlate with garnet-bearing tactite and a consistent molybdenum-bismuth-copper-manganese pathfinder signature, giving us a clear exploration model for follow-up work,” CEO Quinn Field-Dyte says.
KNOX submitted 30 rock-chip samples and 12 soil samples from six field areas to ALS Geochemistry in Reno for analysis.
Results support a structurally controlled tungsten-skarn system developed near diorite-granodiorite intrusive contacts with marble and metasedimentary rocks.
Field observations trace mineralisation exposed intermittently through an approximately 1.6km north-south structural corridor. Estimated exposed surface widths reach approximately 49m at the War Bond open cut and 32m at the Tactite open cut.
Vault Strategic will integrate the results with its previously announced drone-borne magnetic survey and historical data to refine geological interpretations and support drill target generation.
Work forms part of the technical foundation for the company’s maiden NI 43-101 technical report being prepared by geologist William Feyerabend and Amazona Enterprises.
Historical assay records from 1942 and 1943 reported selected sample results up to 14.40% tungsten trioxide, with additional samples reporting 0.8% and 0.9%.
A 250-tonne test lot averaging 0.3% tungsten trioxide was reportedly mined from the Old Discovery East pit.
