URZ3 expands Wyoming uranium footprint

URZ3 Energy (TSX-V:URZ) has acquired additional mineral lands in Wyoming, expanding its uranium exploration portfolio in the Powder River Basin by approximately 4,411 hectares.

The company secured three Wyoming state mineral leases covering roughly 777 hectares and staked 437 unpatented mining claims covering an estimated 3,642 hectares.

URZ23 says the acquisitions expand its presence in an in situ recovery (ISR) uranium district, with select newly acquired properties contiguous to its Dry Fork Project and others representing separate exploration opportunities.

The Powder River Basin also hosts the operating Nichols Ranch ISR uranium mine, owned and operated by Energy Fuels (NYSEAMERICAN:UUUU).

Interim CEO Darcy Higgs says the acquisitions significantly strengthen URZ3’s exploration portfolio.

“By expanding both around our existing Dry Fork project and into additional prospective areas across the Powder River basin, we have assembled a substantial land position that provides multiple opportunities for uranium discovery,” Higgs says.

“We believe this expanded portfolio provides a strong foundation for systematic exploration and long-term value creation.”

For the rest of the year, URZ3 intends to complete geological compilation, target generation, permitting reviews, and field evaluations across the new ground, focusing on sandstone-hosted mineralisation suitable for ISR extraction.

URZ3 Energy focuses on the acquisition and exploration of uranium properties in North America.
