United Critical Minerals (CSE:UCM) has completed a targeted geochemical till sampling program at its Tahlo Lake Copper-Molybdenum-Gold Project in British Columbia.
While no significant geochemical anomalies were identified in the samples, about half were interpreted to represent true subglacial till, providing information on glacial dispersion and potential underlying bedrock sources.
CEO Pat Donnelly says the program has helped refine priority areas on the largely underexplored property.
“By combining z-axis tipper electromagnetic, light detection and ranging, and till sampling, we’ve laid the groundwork for more comprehensive exploration and see significant upside as we advance this project,” Donnelly says.
United Critical Minerals notes that more advanced exploration methods, including induced polarisation geophysics and till drilling, are expected to play an important role in future exploration efforts.
Till samples were collected from pits ranging from 60cm to more than 1m in depth, with sample sizes generally between one and 2.5kg. The samples were analysed by ALS Canada in Vancouver using aqua regia digestion followed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry analysis.
The Babine porphyry copper belt, measuring roughly 20km by 80km on the east side of Babine Lake, hosts numerous copper-rich mineral deposits at varying stages of development, including notable occurrences, developed prospects and past-producing mines.
The 1,692-hectare Tahlo Lake property is situated at the northern end of the Babine porphyry copper belt, approximately 11km northeast of American Eagle Gold’s (TSX-V:AE) NAK project.
