Union Star’s Cobb Creek strategy converges on concealed gold system

Union Star Metals (ASX:USM) has integrated gravity, geochemical, and geological interpretation at the Cobb Creek Project in Nevada, US, defining a large, concealed gold target beneath shallow volcanic cover.

The company plans to commence drilling in September 2026 and is awaiting final permitting. Dipole-dipole induced polarisation (DDIP) geophysical surveys are also scheduled to commence in July 2026.

Union Star notes that the central concealed target at Cobb Creek is defined by a prominent gravity low associated with a donut-shaped thallium anomaly and surrounding gold and silver mineralisation. This gravity low also coincides with interpreted north-northeast and northwest trending structures.

The company believes the convergence of these independent datasets demonstrates the prospectivity of the target area and indicates the potential presence of a broader concealed mineralised system beneath cover.

Union Star has several ongoing workstreams as it prepares for drilling, including the final planning for DDIP geophysical surveys, structural modelling and drill target refinement, and environmental and cultural permitting activities.

CEO Lucas Stanfield says that the work being done has made clear that “multiple independent datasets are now converging on the Central Concealed Target” at Cobb Creek.

“The relationship between the gravity low, donut-shaped thallium anomaly, shallow volcanic cover, and surrounding historical gold and silver mineralisation is defining a highly prospective concealed gold target beneath an area that appears to have seen no historical drilling,” Stanfield says.

“With permitting for initial drill testing now well advanced, DDIP surveys scheduled to commence next month, and drilling targeted for September, we believe Cobb Creek is rapidly evolving into a compelling Nevada gold exploration story.”

Union Star Metals is a precious metals exploration company focused on building a portfolio of gold and silver assets in the US.
