Turaco extends ‘high-grade’ gold at Adiopan

Turaco Gold (ASX:TCG) reports further significant drilling results from the Adiopan area of its Asupiri deposit, part of the 4.65 million ounce (Moz) Afema Project in Côte d’Ivoire.

The company completed 2,984m across 17 holes at Adiopan, with 13 holes targeting down-dip extensions of the mineralised zone. Results confirm shallow, ‘high-grade’ extensions that remain open in all directions.

Key intercepts include 15m @ 4.72 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 122m, including 6m @ 8.71g/t Au from 127m; and 66m @ 1.07g/t Au from 77m, including 7m @ 4.17g/t Au from 113m.

Other highlights include 15m @ 3.62g/t Au from 164m; 18m @ 2.71g/t Au from 113m, including 4m @ 9.37g/t Au from 114m; and 15m @ 2.74g/t Au from 146m.

Infill drilling, in particular, returned 17m @ 3.15g/t Au from 131m, including 7m @ 6.19g/t Au from 139m; and 14m @ 2.90g/t Au from 73m.

Managing Director Justin Tremain says recent drilling shows clear potential for resource growth following the release of the Afema Prefeasibility Study.

“Recent drilling at Woulo Woulo has extended broad zones of mineralisation while defining higher-grade gold zones at depth. Along the Afema Shear, drilling has also extended high-grade mineralisation which remains shallow and open,” Tremain says.

Adiopan sits at the northern end of the Asupiri deposit, which holds a mineral resource estimate of 33.8 million tonnes @ 1.2g/t Au for 1.28Moz Au, with 67% classified in the indicated category.

Turaco notes metallurgical testwork at Asupiri has achieved average gold extraction of 88% from primary processing.

Meanwhile, drilling remains ongoing at the Anuiri, Begnopan, and Woulo Woulo deposits, with drill results expected over the coming weeks.

Turaco Gold is an explorer and developer focused on advancing its flagship Afema Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire.
