Turaco appoints project development director

Turaco Gold (ASX:TCG) has appointed experienced engineer Warren King as project development director to lead the Afema Gold Project through its Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and construction phases.

King brings over 20 years of mining industry experience specialising in engineering, design, procurement, and construction of mineral processing plants.

His recent roles include serving as VP for projects for Allied Gold (TSX:AAUC), managing the Sadiola Gold Mine upgrade in Mali.

King also worked as project manager for the design and construction of Vault Minerals’ (ASX:VAU) 4 million-tonne-per-annum (Mtpa) King of the Hills gold processing plant in Western Australia.

He also managed construction of the 2.5Mtpa processing facility at the Dalgaranga Gold Project, now operated by Ramelius Resources (ASX:RMS), and has held key technical roles at engineering firms including Mintrex and DRA.

“Warren brings a track record of successfully advancing gold projects through feasibility, development and into production,” Managing Director Justin Tremain says.

“In particular, his exposure to Africa and construction of large-scale gold projects greatly strengthens Turaco’s credentials to develop the plus 200,000-ounce-per-annum 4.65Moz Afema Project.”

The appointment follows completion of the Afema Project Prefeasibility Study.

Located in southeastern Côte d’Ivoire, Afema hosts a JORC mineral resource estimate of 4.65Moz gold across multiple deposits, including Woulo Woulo, Herman, Jonction, Anuiri, Asupiri, Begnopan, and Toilesso. Turaco also holds a probable ore reserve of 1.91 million ounces.

King holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Stellenbosch and a Bachelor of Law from the University of South Africa. He will commence his role on 3 August 2026.

Turaco Gold is a West African gold developer advancing the Afema Project in Côte d’Ivoire towards a DFS.
