TSX listings rocket 500% month-on-month

The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) reports it had 24 new issuers in April 2024, compared with just four in March and nine in April last year, according to data released today (10 May 2024) by Toronto-headquartered TMX Group.

The 500% jump month-on-month in new listings includes 23 exchange traded funds (ETFs) and a single mining company G2 Goldfields (TSX:GTWO).

Total capital raised in April this year increased 574% compared to March, and was up 192% compared to April 2023. 

The total number of TSX financings in April was 58, some 40 more compared with the previous month and up from 21 in April 2023.

Meanwhile, also in April this year the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V) welcomed one new issuer, compared with seven in the previous month and three in April 2023.

The new listing was mining company Oracle Commodity Holding Corp (TSX-V:ORCL). Oracle is a mining royalty company, a spin out from Silver Elephant Mining Corp (TSX:ELEF) in 2022.

On the TSX-V total financings raised in April decreased 13% compared to March 2024, and were down 30% compared to April last year. There were 92 financings in April this year, compared with 71 in the previous month and 77 in April 2023.
