Transition eyes emergence of Gowganda’s system-scale potential

Transition Metals (TSX-V:XTM) has identified multiple wide zones of gold mineralisation after receiving results related to relogging and sampling activities at the Gowganda Gold Project in Ontario, Canada.

CEO Scott McLean says the resurgence of activity led the company to revisit one of its initial gold discoveries in the historical Gowganda silver camp.

“Our recent relogging and sampling efforts support the presence of a much broader gold system than previously recognised, with continuous mineralisation in altered host rocks and an extensive swarm of syenite dykes extending well beyond the historical high-grade intervals,” McLean says.

“This emerging system-scale potential, together with our improved understanding of structural controls, will help guide more effective exploration targeting as we advance the project.”

Some of the latest highlights include 30.10m @ 0.77 grams per tonne gold, including 22.85m @ 0.97g/t gold; and 23m @ 0.51g/t gold, including 17m @ 0.64g/t gold.

Transition Metals is continuing to advance exploration across Gowganda, focusing on further defining mineralisation uncovered at surface and in previous shallow drilling.

A robust and growing geoscience database is being leveraged to enhance understanding of the alteration, mineralogical and structural controls on mineralisation.

Building on this work, the company notes several priority targets have been identified for additional field follow-up. This includes prospective offset structural zones and areas supported by strong geoscientific indicators.

Ongoing efforts are aimed at refining targets and improving the overall geological model to support an efficient, well-informed and targeted exploration drill program. The program is planned for the upcoming Canadian summer field season.

Resampling was conducted earlier this year on four diamond drillholes originally drilled in 2020 while the property was under option. At the time, exploration activities focused on cobalt-silver targets, and only limited sampling was completed, with no gold assays publicly reported.

The Gowganda Project covers a large, contiguous land package within the historical Gowganda Silver-Cobalt Camp.

Transition Metals is a Canadian multi-commodity explorer focused on developing and testing new ideas for discovering mineralisation in places that others have not looked.
