Toro Energy sharpens its horns with ‘high-grade’ Au rock chip samples from Yandal Gold Project, WA

ASX-listed explorer Toro Energy (ASX:TOE) reports the presence of ‘high-grade’ gold (Au) following a rock chip sampling program at the New England Target Area, as part of its 100% owned Yandal Gold Project in Western Australia.

The results, generated by 85 rock samples, have returned Au grades of up to 70.4g/t Au and have successfully expanded the already ‘highly prospective’ Golden Ways Target Area about 2km to the south, confirming the ‘significant’ Au prospectivity of the entire tenure.

Other samples that returned ‘high-grade’ Au anomalism include sample YGP_R492 (27.8g/t Au) and sample YGP_R330 (22.4g/t Au).

The results … have returned grades of up to 70.4g/t Au and have successfully expanded the already ‘highly prospective’ Golden Ways Target Area

Field work programs were conducted to further investigate the prospectivity of the neighbouring Golden Ways Target Area for additional Au mineralisation outside of the 2 main central veins that underwent first phase drilling in late 2020.

It is also reported that the anomalous Au rock chip samples are largely associated with outcropping and sub-cropping quartz vein wall rock or within walls of historical trench workings.

Toro Energy also notes that further field work and rock chip sampling at the Golden Ways Target Area has upgraded 3 of the existing prospects into potential drill target areas.

This ongoing field work has also identified a new prospect and drill target area in the southwest, following the return of 7 samples that boasted ‘significant’ Au assay results greater than 1g/t Au.

Toro Energy is an Australian uranium explorer and developer with a vision of becoming the leading mid-tier global uranium company by maximising shareholder returns through responsible exploration, mining and asset growth. The company’s Yandal project is located in WA and is considered highly prospective for economic gold mineralisation.

With further field work and rock sampling still ongoing within the Golden Ways Target Area, Toro Energy announces it has moved forward with investigating the full geochemistry of the rock chip sample assays, with a plan to follow-up exploration at the New England Target Area.
