Speaking on the results, Torian Resources Executive Director Peretz Schapiro said: “The Mt Stirling / Viserion gold System continues to deliver excellent results for our company.
Both the grade and width of today’s gold results bode exceptionally well for a potential resource upgrade in both size and confidence later this quarter. Additionally, we are encouraged by the impact that these results may have on the underground mining potential of the system, which will be considered in our upcoming optimisation study.
“Both the grade and width of today’s gold results bode exceptionally well for a potential resource upgrade in both size and confidence later this quarter”
It is really exciting that despite a significant amount of drilling over the last ~15 months we are still yet to define the bounds of the Mt Stirling / Viserion system, which remains open at depth and open along more than ~1.2KM of strike.”
The company had recently commenced a 17,500m drilling campaign at Mt Stirling, which included the Mt Stirling/Viserion extension, Skywing gold targets, high-priority targets at Tyrannus, Hydra, Estera, and the Stirling Well extension.

The campaign was tasked with targeting the shallow portion of the Mt Stirling/Viserion gold deposit, with a goal of drill-defining to the JORC ‘Indicated’ category. This would in turn increase the global project gold grade, expand the resource base, and provide valuable data and confidence for an Optimisation Study and global MRE update planned for Q1 2022.
Torian reports that the Mt Stirling drill program is progressing with 29 of 42 planned drill holes complete, and 4 additional holes added to SE extensions. In addition, Skywing lode extensional drilling has already completed 17 of 36 planned holes.
Additional follow-up drilling is also being planned for Tyrannus, Hydra, Stirling Well and Estera. The company noted that fast assay turn-around is enabling rapid follow-up drill planning.
