Titiminas Silver (TSX:TITI) has confirmed ‘high-grade’ molybdenum mineralisation at its Janchiscocha target in Peru, with samples returning up to 8.29% molybdenum (Mo).
The company’s first modern exploration campaign at the past-producing molybdenum mine in central Peru’s Junin region identified a district-scale quartz-molybdenite vein system extending over approximately 4km.
Underground channel sampling at the Janchiscocha mine returned consistent results across multiple levels. Sampling along 150m of level 4464 averaged 1.33% Mo, including a peak assay of 5.08% Mo, over an average sampling width of 0.62m.
Meanwhile, level 4402 sampling across 80m averaged 1.01% Mo with a maximum of 1.94% Mo over an average width of 0.68m.
The Londres target delivered even higher grades, with eight representative underground samples averaging 2.30% Mo over an average width of 0.66m, including the campaign’s highest assay of 8.29% Mo.
Titiminas discovered five previously untested surface veins at Janchiscocha with mapped strike lengths up to 300m and widths ranging from 0.4m to 1.2m.
A 1km mineralised corridor connecting Janchiscocha and Londres was also identified, hosting at least four additional quartz-molybdenite structures reaching up to 2.5m in width.
Vice President of Exploration Helmut Herrera says these align with the results they had hoped to achieve from their first sampling at Janchiscocha.
“High-grade molybdenum is confirmed not only in the historically mined workings but across five previously untested surface veins and a full kilometre of new ground between Janchiscocha and Londres,” Herrera says.
“The newly recognised structures also sit roughly 300m above the old workings, consistent with the copper-molybdenum porphyry model we have described for the broader Madre Sierra district.”
Titiminas notes the results support interpretation of a single larger hydrothermal molybdenum system rather than isolated historic occurrences.
Janchiscocha covers approximately 37 hectares and features over 2km of recognised underground development across three levels. The target also hosts 12 additional mapped surface veins, while Londres shows six dozen surface veins.
During the May–June 2026 campaign, 100 rock samples were collected, with 89 underground and 11 surface samples analysed by Certimin’s laboratory in Lima.
Titiminas plans to continue geological work at Janchiscocha over the coming months, targeting a strategic decision by year-end. The next phase, it says, will include detailed mapping, channel sampling, and diamond drilling.
The company is also advancing its Madre Sierra silver mine in the same region under a phased development strategy designed for fast-track production.
