Terra Metals (ASX:TM1) has reported the first two reverse circulation drillholes from the southern end of the Southwest Discovery at the Dante Project in Western Australia, confirming continuity of platinum group metal (PGM)-copper-nickel-cobalt sulphide mineralisation.
Terra notes the results potentially indicate that the Southwest Discovery may comprise a single large-scale magmatic sulphide system that includes SW5 and SW6. These results follow previously reported results that confirmed the polymetallic nature of the Southwest Prospect.
Assay highlights include:
- SWRC058: 20m @ 2.12 grams per tonne platinum, palladium, and gold (PGE3), 0.16% copper, 0.13% nickel from 85m, including
- 2m @ 9.74g/t PGE3, 0.19% copper, 0.14% nickel from 85m
- 3m @ 2.66g/t PGE3, 0.40% copper, 0.26% nickel from 93m
- SWRC033: 22m @ 1.21g/t PGE3, 0.12% copper from 66m, including
- 3m @ 2.15g/t PGE3, 0.28% copper, 0.15% nickel from 85m
- 5m @ 1,155 parts per million cobalt, 0.28% copper, 0.23% nickel, and 0.10g/t PGE3 from 3m
Terra Metals has now defined more than 950m of strike and at least 750m of down-dip extent from surface, with mineralisation remaining open along strike and at depth.
CEO and Managing Director Thomas Line says that these results demonstrate the continuity of polymetallic mineralisation within the SW5 and SW6 corridors.
“Together with the recently reported SWRC051 pre-collar and SWDD011 results from the northern SW6 Prospect, every reported infill and extensional drillhole has successfully intersected sulphide mineralisation, strengthening our confidence that Southwest represents a large and growing magmatic sulphide system,” Line says.
Southwest corridor shows scale
“Southwest has now been defined over more than 950m of strike, approximately 650m across strike, and at least 750m of down-dip extent from surface, while remaining open along strike and at depth.
“Southwest sits outside our existing 148-million-tonne Dante Mineral Resource and represents a new mineralised corridor within the broader Jameson Layered Intrusion. Terra Metals controls approximately 80km of strike and 30km of prospective width within the Jameson Layered Intrusion, within which multiple mineralised reef systems and sulphide discoveries have already been identified, with numerous new high-priority targets currently under assessment and progressing toward drill testing.”
Terra Metals is continuing to focus on diamond drilling targeting extensions to the mafic-ultramafic sulphide unit along the main Southwest Sulphide Zone and heritage surveys focused on opening the broader Southwest project area, which will feed into a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) in H2 2026.
Terra is also focusing on exploration for additional ultramafic PGM-sulphide units, testing further extensions to the Southwest prospect along strike, and detailed structural interpretation of Southwest and the broader Dante Project.
Additional detailed metallurgical test work and flowsheet development are also ongoing, with the goal of progressing towards Scoping Studies and a Prefeasibility Study (PFS) following the maiden MRE.
Terra Metals is focused on the Dante Project, which hosts a large-scale polymetallic mineral system.
