Tartana Minerals (ASX:TAT) has commenced process and plant upgrades at its copper sulphate pentahydrate plant on the Tartana Mining Leases with the aim to increase production capacity and reliability at the plant.
The key infrastructure upgrades come following the announcement of a $4.5 million placement. Tartana has committed $435,000 towards the upgrading of key components in the solvent-extraction-crystallisation plant.
Primary costs will be for the replacement of the chiller circuit, a critical component of the crystallisation process.
Fabrication work is expected to commence immediately with installation expected to be completed within six weeks.
Tartana has a 100% offtake agreement for its copper sulphate pentahydrate with Kanins International with the price of the product based off the LME copper price with a quality premium included.
At the current LME copper price above US$13,000 per tonne, Tartana’s approximate sales price comes to $5,000 per tonne. Since May 2024, the company has produced over 1,400 tonnes of product, generating revenue of $3.2 million.
Tartana Minerals is a copper producer with a portfolio of exploration tenements for copper, zinc, gold, silver, and critical minerals in Far North Queensland.
