Talent Tuesday: Kristi Noem joins NovaRed advisory board

In this week’s Talent Tuesday, we see big news coming out of the US as former US Secretary of Homeland Security and the current special envoy to the Shield of the Americas, Kristi Noem, joins the advisory board for NovaRed Mining (CSE:NRED).

NovaRed is an exploration-stage company focused on resource identification and development through technology, using a sustainable and intelligent model for exploration.

Through her advisory role, Noem will support the company as it acquires and advances critical mineral opportunities.

Noem served as US Secretary of Homeland Security from 2025 to 2026, overseeing the department and guiding initiatives around critical infrastructure, transportation security, interagency coordination, and strategic operations. She also served as Governor of South Dakota from 2019 to 2025, and served in the US House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019.

NovaRed CEO Brian Goss says Noem’s experience will be valuable for the company as it advances its development.

“Kristi brings exceptional leadership experience and a deep understanding of the policy, regulatory, and economic factors that influence infrastructure investment, resource development, and long-term economic growth,” Goss says.

NovaRed Mining is focused on copper-gold porphyry projects in British Columbia, Canada, leveraging AI-based technology to identify and evaluate properties.

Aurum bolsters executive team to drive Boundiali DFS

Aurum Resources (ASX:AUE) has made a number of new appointments this week, with Richard Edginton coming in as General Manager Mining, Luke Stacey as Project Director, and Ting Xu as Chief Financial Officer.

With Aurum having recently delivered a positive Prefeasibility Study (PFS) for the 3.22-million-ounce Boundiali Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire, the company says these new appointments will drive the completion of a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) by the end of 2026.

Richard Edginton brings over 25 years of operations and technical experience to the role, having worked across Australia and West Africa. He is a founder and director of Junction Contract Mining (JCM), bringing experience in mine planning, fleet selection, contract mining tenders, project development, and operational support, particularly in the West African gold space.

Luke Stacey has more than 20 years of gold sector experience, bringing projects from feasibility through to execution, with many of them in West Africa. Stacey’s expertise lies in Scoping Studies, DFSs, detailed design, construction and field engineering, commissioning, and optimisation.
