Talent Tuesday: Battery X Metals adds automotive advisor

This week’s Talent Tuesday highlights the appointment of automotive executive Zachary Funk to the advisory board of Battery X Metals (CSE:BATX).

Battery X Metals, through its wholly owned subsidiary Battery X Rebalancing Technologies, is focused on the development of a next-generation prototype that will help to extend the useful life of electric vehicle (EV) batteries and reduce replacement costs, extend vehicle life cycles, and promote sustainability.

As an advisor to the company, Funk will provide strategic guidance on commercialisation, partnerships, market adoption, deployment, and overall market engagement, working with the automotive industry, dealerships, fleet operations, and other industry stakeholders.

Funk has held senior roles in Canada’s top automotive groups, currently overseeing operational performance at a global premium automobile manufacturer.

This appointment comes in line with Battery X Metals aligning its advisory board with experienced industry executives to support the company and its product’s growth across the market.

Automata Rare Earths

Automata Rare Earths (CSE:AREE) has also added to its strategic advisory board, bringing on Alex Makrodimitras to help strengthen the company’s evaluation of strategic opportunities, foster stronger relationships with government and defence entities, and develop frameworks for the intersection of critical minerals, technology, national security, and supply chain resilience.

Makrodimitras brings more than 22 years of experience, having held senior roles in the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command.

In addition to his military experience, Makrodimitras founded Spicy Corp. in 2024, which is a defence technology company that is focused on communications solutions.

CEO Chris Huggins says that “as global demand for critical minerals continues to accelerate, particularly those used in advanced defence systems, aerospace applications, and next-generation technologies, we believe it is important to surround the company with advisors who understand these strategic trends at the highest level”.

“Alex brings a unique combination of operational experience, leadership, and defence sector insight that will be valuable as we advance our projects and evaluate future opportunities.”
