Business-to-business tech provider Swift Networks Group (ASX:SW1) has secured a renewal of its contract to provide technical support and entertainment services to mining heavyweight AngloGold Ashanti (NYSE:AU).
The $1.2 million agreement is for the provision of 24/7 technical support services for 36 months and entertainment services for 12 months to the accommodation village at the Tropicana gold mine in Western Australia.
Swift has contracted its services to AngloGold, which has a market capitalisation of $10.56 billion, since 2015.
The entertainment services will be provided by Foxtel under a reseller agreement between the streaming network provider and Swift.
Swift, which has a market capitalisation of $14.9 million, says the contract will start generating operating expenditure revenue this month.
The Tropicana mine is a 70/30 partnership between AngloGold and Regis Resources (ASX:RRL).
The mine comprises a series of open pits and an underground mine located 330km east-northeast of Kalgoorlie.
The operation, which has produced around 310,000 ounces and hosts a reserve of 1.57 million ounces, has a 978-strong workforce.
Construction of a renewable energy facility began in the second half of 2023 and is on schedule for completion in early 2025.
It will integrate 62 megawatts (MW) of solar and wind power into Tropicana’s existing 54MW gas fired power system.
