Sun Peak Metals (TSX-V:PEAK) has wrapped up maiden drilling programs across two projects in Saudi Arabia, with assay results expected in late August.
The company drilled 23 drill holes totalling 3,764m across the Safra Main Project and Halahila Main Project targets within its 1,072km² portfolio in the Arabian-Nubian Shield.
Both programs intersected sulphide mineralisation on structures within volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS)-style volcanic and sedimentary rock packages.
Sun Peak submitted 961 drill core samples for laboratory analysis during the first half of 2026.
CEO Greg Davis says the company is continuing to build a ‘significant’ exploration platform in Saudi Arabia by advancing multiple projects through a ‘disciplined’ discovery process.
“The completion of our maiden drilling programs at Safra Main and Halahila Main represents an important milestone, and we look forward to receiving the first assay results in late August while continuing to advance our broader portfolio of high-priority targets,” Davis says.
At Halahila Main, the company completed 13 diamond drill holes totalling approximately 2,521m. The program tested a mineralised gossan extending more than 650m along strike and up to 30m in width.
Surface samples previously returned values up to 16.35 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) and 180g/t silver (Ag).
Meanwhile, Safra Main comprised 10 diamond drill holes totalling roughly 1,242m. Previous surface sampling at the target returned values up to 3.34g/t Au, 6.72% copper (Cu), 864g/t Ag, 19.05% zinc (Zn), and 9.89% lead (Pb).
Trench sampling returned 22.5m @ 0.90g/t Au, 35.6g/t Ag, 0.20% Cu, 1.83% Pb, and 1.21% Zn.
Sun Peak also completed 1,345 line kilometres of fixed-wing time-domain airborne electromagnetic surveying at the Al Miyah Project, along with gravity surveys at the Hishashat Project and Al Miyah Main targets. Drilling at Al Miyah is scheduled for Q4 2026.
At the recently acquired Jabal Al Asad Project, exploration work identified a large VMS-style gossan extending approximately 1.5km along a northeast-southwest trend. The company completed detailed geological mapping, collected 89 rock and soil samples, and undertook a 637-station gravity survey.
Sun Peak holds 13 exploration licences in Saudi Arabia totalling 1,072km² along established VMS and gold trends, with applications pending for two additional licences covering approximately 200km².
Sun Peak Metals is an explorer with assets located within the Arabian-Nubian Shield.
