Summit Minerals climbs forwards with drilling at Stallion REE Project in WA

Battery minerals explorer Summit Minerals (ASX:SUM) is from 15 May 2023  beginning its phase two reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Stallion Rare Earth Element (REE) Project in Ponton Creek, Western Australia.

The RC rig will be conducting a 24-hole drilling program for about 1,000m to 1,400m, aiming to follow-up on elevated total rare earth oxides (TREOs) to the west of Ponton Creek.

Additionally, the phase two drilling is intended to confirm the recent results and to chase mineralised projections into the near-surface environments, which are more amenable to shallow open-pit mining methods.

Summit Minerals reports the previous drill results received on 8 March 2023 include, hole STRC014 with 23m @ 2,162.45 parts per million (ppm) TREO from 24m; hole STRC012 with 15m @ 3,088.84ppm TREO from 39m; and hole STRO011 with 17m @ 3,783.4ppm TREO from 61m, including 1m @ 1.52% TREO from 73m.

Summit Minerals is an Australian-focused ASX-listed exploration company with a portfolio of projects in demand-driven commodities.

The company’s projects include the Windfall and Magwood Antimony projects in New South Wales, as well as the Stallion REE, Phillips River Lithium and Bridgetown Lithium projects in Western Australia.
