Sultan Resources declares new target at Kulin Hill Nickel Project in WA

Sultan Resources (ASX:SLZ) has confirmed that the target geology, a layered ultramafic intrusion, has been ‘successfully’ intersected at the company’s Kulin Hill Nickel Project in Western Australia.

The results come from geochemical assays that were analysed from diamond drillhole SLGDD001 at the project.

Additionally, Sultan reports the layered ultramafic intrusion was intersected from the weathered surface through to 256m downhole, with a 40m thick interlayer of felsic gneiss from 153.5m downhole.

Drillhole SLGDD001 detected anomalous platinum group elements (PGEs), platinum (Pt), and palladium (Pd), along with anomalous copper (Cu), and elevated sulphur (S) in a 6.8m thick sheared lens of mafic-ultramafic below the main unit.

The company reports this discovery may be evidence of remobilised sulphides from an ultramafic source. These findings from drillhole SLGDD001, which intersected the edge of the main magnetic target zone are providing encouraging the prospectivity of the main target.

Sultan states that the interpretation of the geology intersected in SLGDD001 in the context of the ‘greater’ Kulin Hill Project is ongoing.

The main target zone of the priority magnetic target on the Kulin Hill Project is located beneath salt lake Reserve 18455 (Lot 225568).

Although Sultan has been granted full access to the reserve, due to recent weather, the company is unable to access the area for exploration, including ground geophysics.

Additionally, the company reports it will monitor salt lake closely for accessibility.

Sultan Resources is an Australian-focused exploration company exploring porphyry gold-copper, structurally-hosted gold, nickel, cobalt, and base metals.

The company’s portfolio assets are located in the East Lachlan Fold Belt of Central New South Wales and the southern terrane region of the Yilgarn Craton in south and southeastern Western Australia.
