Stavely Minerals brings forward planned drilling at Thursday’s Gossan prospect, Victoria

Stavely Minerals (ASX:SVY) has decided to bring forward plans to test a deep porphyry target at the Thursday’s Gossan prospect within its Stavely Copper-Gold Project in Western Victoria.

The decision to bring forward the previously planned drilling, now scheduled to begin in July 2023, is part of a move to reduce the impact of bogged vehicles and rutting.

This is due to a drier winter forecasted for the area. Stavely says it has previously drilled through winter by employing track-mounted diamond drill rigs and tracked support vehicles to minimise the use of rubber-tyre vehicles in the paddocks.

Moreover, the decision follows a site-based review of recent diamond holes in the area being undertaken by Stavely with the assistance of a ‘renowned’ porphyry expert, Dr Steve Garwin.

Commenting on this move, Stavely Minerals Executive Chair and Managing Director Chris Cairns says: “We are pleased to be getting back to drilling for the deep porphyry. Our team on-site, working with Dr Garwin, has identified a revised porphyry target that has merit for immediate drill testing.

We would expect a report of Dr Garwin’s findings shortly and intend to provide access to that report on our website when it becomes available”

The Stavely Project covers an area of 1,000km-square over the ‘highly prospective’ Stavely Volcanic Belt in Western Victoria.

Stavely Minerals is an ASX-listed company with a portfolio of assets including the Stavely, Yarram Park, and Ararat Projects, all located in Western Victoria. Its projects are located 200km west of Melbourne, just west of the regional centre of Ararat and just east of the regional town of Glenthompson in Victoria.
