Starcore completes follow-up exploration at Kimoukro

Vancouver-based Starcore International Mines (TSX:SAM) has completed geology fieldwork, including reconnaissance mapping and geochemical soil sampling, at the Kimoukro Gold Project in Cóte d’Ivoire, West Africa.

The company conducted this work with the aim of covering the remaining area of the permit.

Ongoing activities include completing superficial soil sampling collected with manual auger at a depth of about 1m, with the aim to test some 5.5km2 over a grid of 100m by 100m.

Starcore says sampling is ongoing in the northwest side of the permit, to complete the planned program.

To date, work has identified sparse anomalies in the alluvial and eluvial material in the northern part of the permit, east of the Bandama river, without clear pattern identification.

Meanwhile, in the southern portion of the permit, west of the Bandama river, the in-soil gold anomaly greater than 50 parts per billion (ppb) gold spans 700m by 400m. The anomaly is open to the west.

This news comes after Starcore completed field activities in 2024 including installing the main camp, and conducting a pole-dipole induced polarisation geophysical survey, ground magnetic survey, and 3,000m auger drilling program.

Starcore completed the drilling program in November 2024, which was designed to confirm the previously identified topsoil gold anomaly and to test the remaining central part of the project.

Based on assays from auger and surface samples, an updated delineation of the gold anomaly in the overburden has been compiled. The more than 20ppb gold anomaly stretches 2.5km in length and between 500 and 800m in width, continuously covering more than 1.3km2

Starcore International Mines produces gold and silver from its San Martin operation in Mexico and has a portfolio of exploration projects in Mexico, Canada and Côte d’Ivoire.

The company added the Kimoukro Project to its portfolio via the acquisition of EU Gold Mining in August 2023.
